Pastoral Counselling
614’s counseling ministry aims to assist people with resolving personal and spiritual concerns and building healthy relationships. We believe this will bring individuals to a state of equilibrium and wholeness, as well as building community. Pastoral counseling is provided by qualified, knowledgeable and compassionate counselors committed to these values.
The community of Regent Park is the prioritized area for these free counseling ministry services. Outside area referrals are occasionally accommodated but usually referred to outside specialized professionals.
The time required for pastoral counseling varies from a few sessions to over a year, depending on factors such as: the nature of the issues presented, personal history, personalities, and the agreed upon goals. Sessions are generally fifty minutes in duration, and usually weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. We request a 24 hour cancellation call if the session has to be re-booked.
Individuals, families and couples benefit from our counseling ministry, and many issues are brought to session, including: family mediation, spiritual guidance, abuse, addiction/alcoholism, trauma, mental illness, personal conflicts and prayer counseling

”Chris” was so fearful of everything, he could not bathe himself or independently wash his own garments. He was not able to enter a grocery store without having a panic attack or a phobic adverse reaction. He now has his own market rent apartment, volunteers weekly at his Anglican church, has two good jobs, is doing well with his activities of daily living, andhas just been approved for disability benefits and support.
”Melody” was raped repeatedly at an early age. As a child, she was told she was retarded, severely learning disabled, and would always be considered deaf. She was also told by a professional that she shouldn't even bother to self improve herself because “she would never amount to anything anyway". She now has a beautiful apartment, is one of our most valuable outstanding volunteers, has an amazing job, and Loves the Lord and walks in daily peace and joy.
